Rail supplier news from Quala, ULTX and Alstom (July 2)

Quala and Union Tank Car Co. (UTLX) have partnered to offer full-service rail-car cleaning and maintenance services at Quala's Pasadena, Texas, location. Quala Rail & Specialty offers rail-car cleaning services. With the addition of UTLX Field Services, customers will have access to a full set of maintenance, repair, inspections and qualifications at one site, Quala officials said in a press release.

Alstom and transport authority Magdeburger Verkehrsbetriebe in Magdeburg, Germany, have signed a contract for the delivery of new Flexity trams and their accompanying spare parts. The first calls for 35 vehicles and 24 years of parts supply is valued at 190 million euros and includes options for a total of 28 additional vehicles.
