RR Mergers & Acquisitions announced its client, Lone Star Railroad Contractors, has been acquired by GCF Track Services Inc. Founded in 1993, Lone Star provides railroad maintenance service in the southwest United States, serving a range of customers in markets including agriculture, building materials, consumer products, energy and steel. Based in Italy, GCF operates in the railway infrastructure, electrification, signaling and maintenance sector. Financial terms of the acquisition were not disclosed in RR’s press release.

C&S Cos. hired Carmen Garozzo as a principal engineer who'll focus on the company's expanding railroad engineering practice. Based in Buffalo, New York, Garozzo previously led the rail practice for a national firm. He has more than 45 years of experience in civil and structural engineering, transportation planning and construction management, according to a C&S press release.

ITS Logistics has expanded its national distribution space with a new, 700,000-square-foot addition to its existing campus in Indianapolis. The facility is near the inland ports of Burns Harbor, Mount Vernon and Jeffersonville. The new facility has "immediate large-scale availability to provide a strategic location for a Midwest distribution hub. It will also be the terminal for a 75-tractor fleet with around 200 trailers and 100-plus chassis," Ryan Martin, ITS president of assets, said in a press release.
