Railinc is rolling out additional advanced freight-management resources as part of its commercial products unit, which now has its own brand: TransmetriQ. The brand’s products and services will continue to be powered by the people, processes and technology of Railinc. TransmetriQ will further expand offerings and continue to serve individual customers through existing products, including the flagship RailSight Suite of Applications, CarLogix and Advanced Analytics Solutions. The introduction of TransmetriQ coincides with the launch of RailSight’s Advanced ETAs feature. It uses artificial intelligence and machine learning to model complex operating practices and predict arrival times more accurately.

Miner Enterprises Inc. has purchased the Toggle-LockTM gravity gate product line from Davanac Inc., a division of The Railway Supply Group. Toggle-Lock gates and parts will continue to be sold and supported through Miner’s existing sales, engineering and service teams. As with Miner’s AutoLOK II outlet gate line, Toggle-Lock gates will be manufactured by Miner subsidiary Powerbrace Corp. The acquisition expands Miner's product line, which includes draft gears, outlet gates, side bearings, brake beams, hatch covers, running boards and other TecsPak springs.

PS Technology (PST) announced global transportation and logistics provider Savage will use 3D-simulation training designed by PST specifically for Savage rail yard and industrial switching operations. PST worked with Savage’s yard and training teams to develop a fully customized training package that utilized Savage’s yard configurations, rules and operating practices to shape the curriculum and that lets the Savage team further extend the abilities of their locomotive simulators.

Michigan railway veteran Tim Hoeffner has joined Chicago rail and transit firm Quandel Consultants to grow Quandel’s presence in the Midwest and beyond. Hoeffner served the Michigan Department of Transportation for 40 years, most recently as director of the Office of Rail. As a senior consultant for Quandel, based in Ann Arbor, Mich., Hoeffner will increase business opportunities and develop the firm’s next generation of leaders.

Since joining CS in 2009, Lemp has played a key role in modeling, data analytics and tolling analysis. He has been instrumental in designing the analytical features of LOCUS, CS’ suite of location-based services data tools.
