Ritron Inc. has delivered 350pcs of its NXDN digital locomotive radios to the Southeastern Pennsylvania Transit Authority, the firm announced in a press release. The order included 72VDC powered radios and 36VDC powered radios.

GE Transportation announced the winners of its Fast Track Award at the company's 24th Annual Client Conference. The award recognizes GE Transportation's Optimization Solutions customers for rail software innovation and excellence to drive automation, increase productivity and address mission-critical business issues. This year's award recipients are Alaska Railroad Corp.; Anacostia & Pacific Co. Inc.'s Chicago South Shore & South Bend Railroad, Louisville & Indiana Railroad, and Pacific Harbor Line Inc.; BNSF Logistics L.L.C.; Central California Traction Co.; Ferrocarril y Terminal del Valle de Mexico S.A. de C.V.; Genesee & Wyoming Inc.; Iron Horse Logistics Services; Lake State Railway; Lange-Stegmann Co.; Lodestar Logistics; OmniTRAX Inc. and its Great Western Railway of Colorado L.L.C. and Stockton Terminal & Eastern Railroad; Ontario Northland; Port Terminal Railroad Association; Transtar Fairfield Southern Co.; and Transtar Union Railroad Co.

OPW recently combined its above-ground and below-ground business units into a new unit known as OPW Retail Fueling. Mike McCann has been appointed vice president and general manager of the combined group, and will report to OPW President David Crouse. Prior to his new appointment, McCann served as VP and GM of the Below Ground Products Group. He also served as VP and GM of the dispensing systems business unit from 2005 to 2007.

New Zealand national rail operator KiwiRail and TTG Transportation Technology have signed an agreement to cut energy consumption and environmental emissions while managing on-time operation of trains by using TTG's Energymiser® Driver Advisory System. The agreement calls for retrofitting up to 182 of KiwiRail's mainline diesel and electric freight locomotives.

CTC Inc. will present a two-day workshop this week on interconnection and preemption for the Pennsylvania Department of Transportation. CTC President Rick Campbell will facilitate the seminar on traffic signal systems interconnected with highway-rail grade-crossing warning systems, which also are known as preempted crossings.

Faiveley Transport recently obtained a series of contracts for its event recorders, including a project on Siemens Transportation's Velaro D. A deciding factor in being chosen for the project was Faiveley Transport's ability to manage the interoperability of different signaling systems through which the Velaro will need to pass, as well as the need to personalize the display of data processing software, Faiveley officials said in a press release.
