The Robel Group formed the Robel Railway Engineering Technology Co. Ltd. (RRET) to provide full sales and service coverage for the Robel product portfolio in Shanghai, China. William Lin was appointed RRET’s general manager.
Siemens Mobility partnered with Ondas Networks to bring a portfolio of wireless radio communication systems to the North American rail market. The portfolio will feature new radios that are interoperable with Siemens Mobility’s advanced train control system radios. Using the MC-IoT radio architecture from Ondas, the new radios will be able to utilize a railroad’s existing wireless infrastructure and dedicated radio frequencies, as well as the flexibility to adapt to future availability changes in the radio frequency spectrum, Siemens officials said in a press release.
The Greenbrier Cos. Inc. amended its joint venture agreement with Grupo Industrial Monclova SA De CV (GIMSA), Greenbrier’s manufacturing partner in Monclova, Mexico. Under the new agreement, both partners will receive additional revenue and dividends for 12 months, based on Greenbrier GIMSA JV revenue beginning March 1 and ending Feb. 28, 2021. Greenbrier estimates these changes to be accretive to its earnings by about 40 cents per share. This and other measures will help Greenbrier achieve its goal of $1 billion in total liquidity, company officials said in a press release.
The cargo forwarding network Worldwide Project Consortium appointed Michael Halm to its board of advisers representing North America. Halm is BNSF Logistics USA’s director of foreign relationship.
STV Inc. named Alexander Napoli vice president of the firm’s transportation and infrastructure division to lead the New York office’s transit and rail initiatives. Napoli is currently leading the delivery of STV’s services for MTA New York City Transit’s (NYCT) flood mitigation and resilience efforts along the Rockaway Line. Previously, he was STV’s design manager for the NYCT’s Harrison Place substation, and worked on MTA Long Island Rail Road projects.
WSP USA hired Art Reinhardt as the office lead for transportation in San Antonio, Texas. He will work on expanding transportation and infrastructure markets and ensuring successful project delivery. Reinhardt has 17 years of engineering experience. Most recently, he served as interim deputy director of the transportation and capital improvements department for the city of San Antonio.
