Siemens Corp. closed its acquisition of power control systems manufacturer Russelectric on March 4, Siemens announced in a press release. Announced in October 2018, the transaction brings together the companies’ electrical power portfolios and service organizations, company officials said. Russelectric will now operate as “Russelectric, A Siemens Business.”
HNTB Corp. has hired Thomas Jenkins as national transit and rail consultant and Daniel Loftus as senior transit project manager. Jenkins has more than five decades of experience in highway and transit planning, engineering, financing and project management. In his role, he will focus on advancing growth of HNTB in the transit industry and providing strategic advice to the firm’s transit team. Loftus joined the Chicago office to develop and manage transportation project scopes, schedules, budgets and teams. He also will assist with proposal development and mentor newer project managers.
Ohio Intermodal Services (OIS), a container drayage provider and member of IMC Cos., will relocate its Cincinnati office to a larger facility. The new 2,300-square-foot facility will have more room for trucks and allow space for a growing support staff, according to an OIS press release. Since 2018, OIS has increased from five to 15 drivers and from one support staff employee to four.
Abloy, a locking solutions provider, will open several support centers in North America, southern Europe and the Asia-Pacific region to expand its international business operations and focus on the global railway industry, according to an Abloy press release.
Gentry Locke has named Ashley Winsky a partner in the transportation, insurance, plaintiff personal injury and civil litigation practices in Richmond, Virginia. Winsky has nearly a decade of experience in defending railroads, motor carriers, bus companies and other businesses against personal injury claims, according to a Gentry Locke press release.
The National Railroad Construction & Maintenance Association (NRC) has elected Kevin Hicks to its board. Vice president and freight business leader of TranSystems, Hicks has more than 25 years of experience in the freight railroad industry, having served in various roles at Union Pacific Railroad. Hicks also directs the American Railway Engineering and Maintenance-of-Way Association’s track functional group and is a member of the Railway Tie Association.
