Siemens Mobility and CSX have agreed to expand their partnership on developing and implementing digital solutions for freight rail. The collaboration will enable CSX — which has 20,000 route-miles of track — to optimize its rail traffic by leveraging Siemens' Controlguide Core Dispatch System (CDS) and Siemens Rail Traffic Network Optimization Solution, TPS.live. In July 2022, Siemens Mobility and CSX started working together to define the features and functions for Controlguide CDS and have agreed to a joint production-operation rollout of the latest capabilities in 2027.

Railway Supply Group — a family of railway supply companies that includes Industry-Railway Suppliers, Unity Railway Supply, Wichita Railway Services, IRECO and Davanac — announced the acquisition of Railroad Tools and Solutions (RRTS). RRTS President Wayne Cash and Bill Bear founded the company in 2003 to service Class Is, regionals and short lines, as well as steel manufacturers, grain and paper mills and other industries. The company supplies rail products and components in the maintenance-of-way, rail car, locomotive, signaling and track safety arenas. Railway Supply Group of companies supplies products and services that cater to all rail industry markets.

Rail Vision Ltd. expressed its sympathies and condolences to those affected by the recent tragic events in Israel. "We are deeply saddened by the distressing situation unfolding in our country," said CEO Shahar Hania in a prepared statement. "We empathize with every individual impacted and strongly condemn the acts of violence that have occurred. We are confident in the strength of our people and our nation. Our focus remains on serving our communities, employees and customers, and contributing to a peaceful and prosperous future for all." Despite the challenging circumstances, Rail Vision has ensured that its operations remain unaffected, Hania said.

Senceive, the wireless-monitoring technology developer, has revealed the latest in its range of IoT infrastructure- condition monitoring devices. The Digital Interface Node enables users to integrate geotechnical, structural and environmental sensors into a Senceive wireless-communications platform in order to benefit from automated data- logging and instant alerts. The new device adds to the company’s range of rail-monitoring instruments that detect movement and changes in the condition of track, earthworks and structures.

The Metropolitan Atlanta Rapid Transit Authority (MARTA) has awarded a contract to Innovation in Transportation Inc. (INIT) for the installation of an automated fare-collection system. The new system allows multiple methods of payment, including debit cards, credit cards and mobile wallets, directly at the fare gate without having to use a vending machine, MARTA officials said in a press release.

Granite Peak Plastics, the plastic-reycling company, announced the addition of Triton Ties to its fiber-reinforced polymer-composite tie-product line. Made with precision extrusion technology, Triton Ties are designed to provide predictable performance and durability, company officials said in a press release.
