Rail supplier news from TekTracking, Teleste, American Track and Alstom (Dec. 6)

TekTracking LLC, a railroad asset management technology development company, announced that Ontario Northland Railroad has selected TIMPS and SITE mobile applications to manage infrastructure inspection and testing. TekTracking will equip Ontario Northland's track and signal personnel with mobile applications to log all data related to track and signaling inspection and testing. TIMPS provides digitized inspection and maintenance reports to support failure trend analysis analytics. SITE provides stakeholders with real-time field information as well as digitized versions of all pertinent test information, according to a TekTracking press release.

Teleste Corp. will supply Alstom with LED door displays for the refurbishment of Avanti West Coast Pendolinos operating on the West Coast mainline in the United Kingdom. The agreement between the companies covers more than 2,000 of Teleste’s information displays and their delivery to Alstom between 2021 and 2023, according to a Teleste press release.

American Track, a provider of inspection, maintenance, repair and specialized construction services for industrial railroad infrastructure, announced the closing on a recapitalization transaction led by DFW Capital Partners. Operating from nine branch offices, the company provides mission-critical services that ensure the safety, compliance, operability and flexibility of onsite railway assets. American Track serves a wide range of industries including manufacturing, petrochemical, mining, agricultural products, food and beverage, basic raw materials, ports and transload facilities across the United States.

Alstom and MOL, the oil and gas company in Hungary, have signed a memorandum of understanding to structure cooperation in examining the use of hydrogen technology in rail transportation. By signing the agreement the parties have taken a step towards the decarbonization of Hungary’s rail transport network, according to an Alstom press release. Also, Alstom’s revolutionary Coradia iLint, the world's first mass-produced passenger train powered by hydrogen fuel cells, has received the 2022 German Sustainability Design Award.
