Teleste Corp. will provide an onboard solution to Alstom for the Marseille metro network in France, ordered by the Aix Marseille Provence Metropole. Teleste’s deliveries will include on-board TFT displays as well as systems for passenger information, public address, CCTV and wireless train-to-ground functions for 38 four-car driverless metro trains, with an option for an additional five vehicles. The system deployments will start in 2021, and the first trains will enter service in 2024.
Petroleum Service Corp. (PSC), a North American provider of product handling, site logistics and sustainability services for the petrochemical and refining industries, has acquired Prokar Inc., a provider of on-site rail-car repair, maintenance and inspection services for petrochemical and refining companies in Texas and Louisiana. As part of the acquisition agreement, Prokar founder and President, Lee Schreve will join PSC's rail-car repair leadership team.
RR Mergers & Acquisitions announced the sale of Midwest Maintenance Service to Metro East Industries. From its Burlington, Iowa, headquarters, Midwest Maintenance has completed more than 7,000 locomotive service field calls. Operating as a division of Metro East Industries, Midwest Maintenance will continue performing mobile running repairs, and refurbishing and modernizing locomotives.
