Rail supplier news from Trinity, Alstom, Hub Group and Parsons Brinckerhoff; Also, in memoriam: Pandrol’s John Hunsberger (Jan. 14)

Trinity Industries Inc. has acquired the assets of WesMor Cryogenic Cos. through a newly formed subsidiary. WesMor specializes in the manufacturing, repair, and rehabilitation of cryogenic containers that store and transport liquified natural gas and other industrial gases. The transaction includes the acquisition of a manufacturing facility in La Porte, Texas, and three service facilities in La Porte, Slidell, La., and Port Washington, Ohio.

Italian construction company Cooperativa Muratori e Cementisti of Ravenna awarded Alstom a $54.7 million contract to supply sub-systems to modernize the Milan-Desio-Seregno suburban tram. The contract includes the design, supply and installation of the tracks, electrical traction sub-stations, and the signaling and telecommunications system. The rail line is scheduled to enter service by late 2016.

Hub Group Inc. appointed Catherine Kozik chief information officer. Kozik has 30 years of leadership and technical expertise, having most recently served 10 years at Motorola.  For the past several years, she served as corporate vice president of global solutions and services operations, leading the solutions support centers and systems integration. Prior to joining Motorola, Kozik was CIO and senior vice president of Tellabs' Global Information Systems.

Parsons Brinckerhoff has named Linda Bohlinger a principal consultant. Based in Los Angeles, she will advise clients on project development, funding, policy, alternative project delivery, value capture, congestion pricing and public-private partnerships. Her 36-year career includes stints as executive director of South Florida Regional Transportation Authority’s Tri-Rail; interim chief executive of the Los Angeles County Metropolitan Transportation Authority; and manager of highway and transportation programs for the Los Angeles County Transportation Commission.

Pandrol USA announced that Manager of Sales John Hunsberger II died Jan. 10 at his home in North East, Md., following a lengthy illness. He was 52. A 23-year Pandrol employee, Hunsberger was "highly respected" at the company and throughout the industry, Pandrol officials said in a prepared statement. He was a member of the New England Rail Road Club. Hunsberger is survived by his wife, Clare, and a son and daughter.
