Trinity Industries Inc. posted third-quarter 2023 revenue of $821 million and income from operations per diluted share of 29 cents and adjusted EPS of 26 cents. The company reported rail-car deliveries of 4,325 and new rail-car orders of 3,200. The quarter's results "reflect significantly stronger performance, with revenue growth of 65% as compared to a year ago," said CEO and President Jean Savage in a press release. "We believe we are on a good path to end 2023 with favorable financial performance and continued improvement." Rail-car deliveries in the quarter were about 14% below internal expectations as a result of border closures and continued congestion, Savage said.

Alstom signed an eight-year extension to its train services agreement with CrossCountry in the United Kingdom. The contract extension is valued at around 950 million euros. Under the agreement, Alstom will continue to maintain, overhaul, service and clean 252 vehicles (34 Class 220 Voyagers and 24 Class 221 Super Voyagers) of the CrossCountry fleet at the primary depot, Central Rivers. In addition, seven Voyagers will move to CrossCountry when they are released from service with Avanti West Coast to bolster the CrossCountry fleet and enable service uplifts in due course.

Rajant Corp. has made reliable Wi-Fi available to all commuters on the Istanbul Metropolitan Municipality's (IMM) Metro M8 line. Using Rajant Kinetic Mesh wireless radio nodes, known as Hawk BreadCrumbs®, all M8 passengers can access 300Mbps of uninterrupted internet while traveling at high speeds underground. IMM debuted the Rajant-enabled Wi-Fi commuter service on Aug. 17.
