TrinityRail this week announced the launch of Trinsight to offer real-time fleet analytics and supply chain intelligence. The service aims to advance the digital connection between North American rail shippers and their rail-car fleets. Trinsight is expected to provide real-time intelligence on the location, condition and status of rail equipment, TrinityRail officials said in a press release. Also announced this week: TrinityRail Maintenance Services has acquired Bay Worx Rail, including its cleaning technology systems and a state-of-the-art cleaning facility in south Texas. The technology uses advanced robotics to improve the safety and efficiency of the rail-car cleaning process.

Kimberly Slaughter was named chief executive officer of Systra USA. She succeeds Stanley Rosenblum, who retired at the end of 2020. Slaughter has more than 30 years of experience in mobility solutions and the transport industry. Her previous positions include vice president of HDR in Chicago, where she oversaw transportation plan development in 16 states; and transit and rail market leader at HNTB. Last year, the American Public Transportation Association (APTA) appointed Slaughter to lead a subcommittee for the Mobility Restoration and Recovery Task Force. She's also served on APTA's board and been active with Women's Transportation Seminar and the Conference of Minority Transportation Officials.

Wabtec Corp. announced its debut on the Human Rights Campaign Foundation's 2021 Corporate Equality Index (CEI), the standard for measuring policies and practices that promote a LGBTQ-inclusive workplace. The addition to the CEI builds on the company's commitment to foster a culture of diversity, inclusion and belonging as outlined in its 2020 Sustainability Report. "We will use the CEI ranking to build upon our progress and create a vibrant workplace where our people feel they belong and have the support to realize their full potential," said Niki Theophilus, chief human resources officer at Wabtec, in a press release.

e-railspot.com has launched "Auction Spot" to further the website's mission of bringing together railroad agencies and vendors for product procurement and communication, said company co-founder Tim Brake in a press release. The addition of Auction Spot will provide sellers the ability to better manage inventory through a flexible auction platform, and buyers to seek product deals within the railway sector. The first auction is taking place Feb. 1-15.
