Rail supplier news from WSP and SMBC (Aug. 25)

WSP USA has named Angela Schwarz vice president for national rail systems. Most recently, Schwarz served as the systems delivery package manager for the Purple Line Project on behalf of the Maryland Transit Administration, a $2 billion design-build 16-mile light rail line that will extend from Bethesda in Montgomery County to New Carrollton, north of Washington, D.C. She also served as systems manager for New Jersey Transit’s positive train control project; and served as senior program manager and as a senior engineering manager for the Metropolitan Atlanta Rapid Transit Authority.

SMBC, a member of the SMBC Group, has promoted Tina Beckberger to senior vice president of leasing at SMBC Rail Services LLC. She joined SMBC Rail in 2016 as VP of portfolio management. In her new role, she will lead commercial and customer service teams. Prior to joining SMBC Rail, Beckberger spent 16 years at General Electric, with most of her time spent with the GE Rail Services business. She also served Wells Fargo Rail as a VP of business intelligence.
