Wabtec Corp. has signed a $21 million contract with SNIM, a national industrial and mining company in Mauritania, to provide trucks for new iron-ore freight cars. Under the contract, Wabtec's Standard Car Truck subsidiary will provide the trucks and spare parts for the cars, which SNIM anticipates will help to increase its iron-ore shipments over the next three years. Wabtec expects to complete delivery in 2014.

Nomad Digital was chosen to install wireless solutions for ScotRail's new Class 380 fleet in the United Kingdom. All 38 units in the fleet will be equipped with Wi-Fi by March 2014. The expansion of Wi-Fi service on ScotRail represents the latest phase in the Scottish government's goal to provide Wi-Fi across Scotland's railways, according to a Nomad Digital  press release.

Former Washington Secretary of Transportation Paula Hammond has been named senior vice president and national transportation market leader at Parsons Brinckerhoff. Hammond will work with transportation agencies across the nation, including the U.S. Department of Transportation, and will continue her involvement with the American Association of State HIghway and Transportation Officials, the Women's Transportation Seminar and the Transportation Research Board, according to a Parsons Brinckerhoff press release. She joins the firm after a 34-year career with the Washington State Department of Transportation, where she served as secretary from 2007 until March 2013.

Anthony Lee has joined SYSTRA as planning and environmental manager. He is a professional certified planner with more than 20 years of experience as a client manager, environmental group leader and project manager. Lee previously served as an environmental projection specialist for the Federal Transit Administration, for which he managed the National Environmental Policy Act process for the Crenshaw/LAX Transit Corridor light-rail project, Westside Subway Extension FEIS/FEIR and various MTA Long Island Rail Road/East Side Access readiness projects.

Strategic Rail Finance has named Morris Levin a senior financial analyst. Previously, he served as relationship manager at PNC Bank's Philadelphia corporate finance group, where he structured capital transactions, conducted due diligence and monitored portfolio risk.

Gorbel Inc. appointed Rob Beightol product marketing manager for the company's work station cranes, jibs and fall arrest product lines. He will be responsible for developing and implementing marketing plans for new customer acquisitions, customer retention and market expansions. Beightol has more than 20 years of marketing and communications experience, most recently as manager of sales and service for Columbus McKinnon.
