Wabtec Corp. announced the appointment of Beverley Babcock to its board. She is the former chief financial officer of Imperial Oil Ltd. and has held a variety of leadership roles at ExxonMobil, including vice president of corporate financial services and assistant controller. Babcock also served in accounting and internal audit positions at Imperial Oil. During her career, she built expertise in finance, accounting and reporting, organizational leadership, strategy and corporate governance, according to a Wabtec press release.

Rail Vision Ltd. has launched a long-term pilot program with Rio Tinto Iron Ore for the AutoHaul® project, a proposed automated, long-distance, heavy-haul rail network. As part of the company’s contract with Hitachi Rail STS, the lead project technology partner and integrator, the Rail Vision main line system will be tested in Pilbara, Western Australia, for three months, with an option to extend for an additional six months.

Alstom has been awarded a contract by Madhya Pradesh Metro Rail Corp. Ltd. to deliver 156 Movia metro cars with 15 years of comprehensive maintenance for the Bhopal and Indore metro projects in India. Valued at 387 million euros, the order includes installation of the latest generation of communications-based train control signaling systems, as well as train control and telecommunication systems, each with seven years of maintenance.

TRAC Intermodal has named Laura Reeder executive vice president and chief human resources officer. She will lead all aspects of human resources in support of the company’s strategic business plan. Reeder has over 15 years of human resource leadership experience in the public and private sectors. Most recently, she served as the chief human resources officer at API Technologies Corp.

Pacific Drayage Services has opened a new location in Bakersfield, California. The facility features storage for 100 containers on chassis and 10,000 square feet of warehousing space complete with six bay doors, enabling PDS to provide transloading services for customers. PDS also has locations at the ports of Long Beach, Los Angeles and Oakland, California.
