• Alstom and the Strategic Investment Fund, which is supported by the French ministry for industrial recovery, have “positively concluded” negotiations with Lohr Industrie for the acquisition of Translohr for $43.7 million, Alstom officials said in a press release. The agreement will preserve the future of tyre-based tramway manufacturing activity in Alsace, France, the related jobs and ongoing projects, said Alstom Chairman and Chief Executive Officer Patrick Kron.

• Birdsall Services Group has named Kenneth Sisk vice president. During his 25-year career, Sisk has specialized in civil engineering, mergers and acquisitions, project management and business development. Most recently, he served as senior project manager and business developer at Bowman Consulting. In his new position, he will be responsible for managing and driving the firm’s continued expansion in New York City and surrounding boroughs.

• Performance Team recently launched a transload operation at the Port of Charleston’s Wando Welch Terminal. The company will operate out of the Wando Terminal container freight station, where it will transload ocean-going containers to truck for distribution to a network of customers throughout the Southeast. The Port of Charleston is governed by the South Carolina Ports Authority.
