• The Bechtel-led team that’s building the first phase of the Dulles Corridor Metrorail project has installed the final segment of the elevated Tysons East Guideway, a key milestone signaling the closeout of the project’s heavy civil work, according to a Bechtel press release. The Tysons East Guideway is the longest of the three aerial sections, which combined make up more than three miles of the project. The remaining aerial work is slated for completion by summer’s end.

• AECOM Technology Corp. has obtained a $42 million contract from Malaysia-Singapore Rapid Transit System (RTS) and Singapore’s Land Transport Authority for an engineering study of the RTS Link. Under the contract, the company will provide an architectural and engineering consultancy study for the proposed RTS Link, which would connect Singapore with Johor Bahru in southern Malaysia, according to an AECOM press release.

• Trinity Industries Inc. officials have announced that Antonio Carrillo, senior vice president and group president of the company’s Energy Equipment Group, has informed the company that he and his family expect to relocate their family back to their native Mexico. Therefore, he plans to depart Trinity on May 25 and accept a position with a public company in the county. Carrillo joined Trinity in 1996 and has been responsible for the firm’s operations in Mexico in addition to his group president duties.

• International Logistics Inc. has been recognized with the Presidential “E” Award for Exports by the U.S. Department of Commerce. The award recognizes U.S. entities for “making a significant contribution to the expansion of U.S. exports,” International Logistics officials said in a prepared statement. President John F. Kennedy created the President’s E Award with an executive order in 1961 to encourage U.S. companies to sell their products abroad. International Logistics provides warehousing, transloading and consolidation services, and retains contracts with all major railroads and steamship lines.
