ESTEL RA, a joint venture between Algerian national railway SNTF and Siemens Mobility, has obtained a contract to deliver signaling and telecommunications systems for a new rail line between Djelfa and Laghouat, Algeria. The order volume for Siemens is worth about $87.9 million, according to a company press release.

ENSCO Inc. has delivered the TrackIT® Track Chart Management System to Amtrak, company officials said in a prepared statement. The web-based system hosts Amtrak's official track charts and provides them as high-qualify PDF digital copies or hard copies. The system is a module of ENSCO's TrackIT® Data Management System.

L.B. Foster Co.'s CXT® Concrete Ties facility in Spokane, Wash., has been selected as a finalist in IndustryWeek magazine's annual 2012 "Best Plants Award for Excellence in Manufacturing" competition. The publication reported online that North American finalists for the award included the Washington rail products facility, according to an L.B. Foster press release.

RailWorks Corp. has promoted Ed Kennedy to president of RailWorks Track Services Inc. Since 2007, Kennedy has served as vice president and general manager. He is responsible for directing all aspects of operations through RailWorks Track Services' six regional and local offices. Under his leadership, the firm has "significantly expanded its revenue and geographic service area, while successfully completing a range of large, high-profile industrial, railroad and public transit projects," according to a company press release. Kennedy has worked in the railroad construction industry for 20 years.

FreightCar America Inc. has named Jeffrey Klamar vice president of sourcing. Based in Chicago, Klamar will be responsible for leading the full scope of the company's sourcing activities, including direct materials, operating supplies and capital improvements. He also will serve as the company's sourcing strategist and create a supply chain to support its long-term domestic and international business objectives. Klamar most recently served CNH Global N.V., where he was materials management director at CNH Parts & Service. In addition, he served a stint as sourcing leader for GE Transportation, where he also was materials manager for its rail-repair business.

Vossloh Fastening Systems America has named Sara Rzewnicki a product engineer in the Chicago office. Her "proven experience and background in project management and customer support complements Vossloh's goals of providing the highest level of customer service and after-sales support," company officials said in a prepared statement.
