The Sao Paulo Metropolitan Urban Transport Co. in Brazil has selected a consortium comprising Vossloh Rail Vehicles and Brazilian firm T'TRANS to supply 22 new Tramlinks V4, which will be delivered in 2014 and 2015. The contract is valued at $52.7 million. The bi-directional trams will be designed at Vossloh's Valencia plant and manufactured in consortium with T'TRANS. The vehicles have a capacity for 400 passengers and can be operated at speeds up to 44 mph.

On Dec. 12, King of Morocco Mohammed VI inaugurated the Casablanca tramway. Also attending the ceremony was Alstom Chairman and a Chief Executive Officer Patrick Kron, according to an Alstom press release. In 2009, Casa Transports, which operates Casablanca's public transportation system, awarded a contract to Alstom to supply 74 Citadis trams. In 2010, Casa Transports awarded Alstom two additional contracts for the installation of the line's rail signaling and power supply systems.

Harbor Rail Services Co. has appointed Caylan Myronowicz executive vice president. He previously served in corporate real estate and financial services. Also, the company announced it has launched a redesigned website.

Michael Baker Corp. announced that, at the request of its board, Bradley Mallory has stepped down as president and chief executive officer. Chief Financial Officer Michael Zugay and Chief Legal Officer H. James McKnight will lead the company on an interim basis, according to a company press release. Zugay joined the firm in 2009 as executive vice president and CFO. McKnight joined the firm in 1995 as VP, general counsel and secretary. In 2000, he was named EVP while continuing to serve as chief legal officer.

Global Railway Industries Ltd. announced Dec. 14 that Thomas Dea, Laurence Bennett, Jacques Coté and Alan Sellery have resigned from the board. Tom Kusumoto, Andrew Mah, Kenneth MacLeod and Michael Kuiack have been appointed to fill their vacancies until the next annual shareholders meeting or until their successors are elected or appointed, company officials said in a prepared statement. All of the new appointees are independent of Global for purposes of Canadian securities laws.

HDR has appointed David Vozzolo director of the firm's streetcar practice. He succeeds Charlie Hales, who recently was elected mayor of Portland, Ore. Vozzolo,who is principal-in-charge of the Kansas City Streetcar project, previously served as program director for the Washington, D.C., Streetcar program. He continues serving in major roles on HDR-supported streetcar projects throughout the United States. HDR also named three regional directors: Steve Carroll, Eastern region; Lucas Olson, Central region; and James Hecht, Western region. Olson is HDR's design manager for the Dallas Streetcar design-build project and the recently awarded Kansas City Downtown Streetcar. Hecht is HDR's project manager for the Los Angeles Downtown Streetcar project and project engineer for the Sacramento Downtown/Riverfront Streetcar project.

PricewaterhouseCoopers L.L.P. U.S. (PwC) has appointed Jonathan Kletzel as the new transportation and logistics leader in the firm's U.S. industrial products practice. He will be responsible for delivering business and technology services to the airline, railroad, trucking and shipping industries. Kletzel has more than 15 years of experience focused on airlines, rail, hospitality, gaming and travel distribution. He previously spent two years at PwC as the U.S. advisory transportation and logistics leader.
