RailComm provides automation systems for two UP yards

advertisement

RailComm Inc. recently supplied two yard automation systems to Union Pacific Railroad, which will employ the wireless systems at its north and south yards in Butler, Wis.

Featuring colored Light Emitting Diode lights that indicate switch alignment and status, the systems are designed to provide each yard remote control of switching leads to improve productivity.

RailComm is supplying a wireless data communication network based on the company’s RADiANT™ Data Radio technology to link five control panels — which govern multiple switches — that are separated between the two yards.

RailComm markets machine-to-machine command, control, communication and information solutions to North American freight and passenger railroads, and other industries.
