IMC Cos. announced some executive leadership moves, including the appointment of Joel Henry as the marine drayage company’s first CEO. Henry has 18 years of tenure with the company, during which he led its 42-year-old brand IMCG through growth and expansion across the southeast United States. Meanwhile, Chris Henley will become the new president of IMC’s southeast region, fulfilling Henry's previous duties. Henley has seven years of leadership at IMC, previously serving as vice president of trucking for IMCG’s Memphis region. Nick Payne will become executive vice president of drayage sales for IMC. Payne started his career at IMCG as a dispatcher, and since then, he has held a number of operations, sales and management roles. IMC also recently welcomed Brian Kobza to its team as EVP of commercial and strategic sales for IMC. Kobza has 20 years of transportation and logistics experience spanning operations and commercial roles at marine terminals, ocean carriers, ports and rail.

Medha Group and Leclanche SA have agreed to jointly market their technologies in the railroad and commercial truck markets. India-based Medha is a supplier of vehicle traction systems and related electronics, and Switzerland-based Leclanche is a provider of energy storage solutions based on lithium-ion cell technology. The partnership agreement calls for Leclanche to provide its lithium-ion battery pack solutions — including but not limited to its INT-53 and INT-39 high-energy battery packs — to Medha for auxiliary and maintenance railway vehicles and passenger trains. The collaboration covers the European, Middle Eastern and African markets.
