Alstom is one of four partners running a tram-based parcel delivery experiment in Strasbourg, France, during which Colissimo packages will be delivered via the Line B trams. Running through Oct. 26, the experiment aims to explore new delivery methods using existing transit infrastructure, Alstom officials said in a press release. Other partners include the French postal service La Poste, transit authority Eurometropole de Strasbourg and network operator Compagnie des Transports Strasbourgeois.

CAF Digital Services, Camlin Rail and Arcadis will participate in a major pioneer project conducted by the Netherlands' passenger railway operator, Nederlandse Spoorwegan (NS), to make fleet inspections much more efficient. CAF’s digital platform LeadMind and Camlin Rail’s inspection service TrainVue will be integrated and installed on 10 key locations along the railway's mainline to capture 3D and 2D images of its fleet.

Hitachi Rail, with its Slovenian long-term partner GH Holding, has been awarded a contract to equip a second track between Koper and Divaca, Slovenia, with a ETCS Level 1 trackside solution and updating the existing electronic interlocking system and the Centralized Traffic Control. The project is designed to improve safety on Slovenia's primary railway network for freight and passengers, according to a Hitachi Rail press release.
