Supplier news from Progress Rail, AECOM, STV, TLS Logistics and Direct ChassisLink (Dec. 19)

Progress Rail has signed a new 10-year maintenance service agreement to continue maintaining Beacon Rail’s fleet of EMD JT42CWR locomotives in Europe. Progress Rail will obtain a level four entity-in-charge-of-maintenance certification and provide services to train in the field and at local depots. The two companies also agreed on a running and heavy maintenance plan with locations in Belgium and Germany. Progress Rail did not disclose the contract's dollar value.
AECOM has been selected as the delivery partner for Austin Transit Partnership (ATP) for the first-phase delivery of ATP’s first light-rail system in Austin, Texas. AECOM will provide program management oversight, environmental services, design management, rail activation and operational readiness. Phase I calls for 10 miles of light rail and 15 stations. AECOM will lead a team of subconsultants, including Disadvantaged Business Enterprise firms. No contract value was reported in the AECOM press release.
STV Inc. has promoted Thomas Lentz to vice president. Previously, he was senior security development manager. In his new role, Lentz will oversee STV’s national safety and security practices. Lentz joined STV in 2008 and has more than 30 years of experience in the industry. In 2023, Lentz launched STV's cybersecurity practice.
TLS Logistics, a Turkey-based logistics company, is expanding operations in the United States with the opening of a 305,000-square-foot warehouse in Tahoe-Reno Industrial Center, Nevada. The warehouse will enable TLS to streamline operations and improve delivery times for cross-border services. The warehouse is part of TLS’s broader U.S. expansion strategy, which includes plans to establish logistics hubs in other locations and introduce road transportation services in Canada and Mexico.
Direct ChassisLink Inc. (DCLI) announced plans to upgrade all 152,000 of its DCL53 chassis with GPS technology. Rollout has begun and is expected to conclude in late 2026. The GPS technology will enable DCLI to better monitor and manage the equipment. Advantages include asset tracking, inventory insights, located based alerts and other improvements, according to a company press release. GPS integration was previously offered as an optional upgrade, but now will be standard across DCLI 53 chassis.
