Transentric L.L.C. recently formed an alliance with Data2Logistics L.L.C. designed to improve shippers access to rail-shipment data and reduce freight costs.
Transentric will provide Data2Logistics access to Web-based shipment-tracking software ShipmentVision™ to enable Data2Logistics' customers to obtain rail-car location messages and service alerts. The software also will enable Data2Logistics to improve its data collection and documentation of dwell-time analyses, and audits of car demurrage and storage charges.
"This agreement will greatly benefit our rail customers because we'll use the data mined from Transentric to recover rail-car mileage revenue due to them," said Data2Logistics Senior Vice President of Sales and Marketing Harold Friedman in a prepared statement.
The alliance will enable Transentric's customers to use Data2Logistics' services, including car-mileage revenue and consignee detention management, freight overcharge recovery, and demurrage and car-storage charge audits.
"Our customers now have a single source for shipment visibility, fleet optimization solutions, and revenue recovery and freight-cost containment services," said Transentric President Jim Damman.
