Transentric sells rail-car tracing software to Texas oil refinery
advertisement
ALON USA recently purchased Transentric L.L.C.'s ShipmentVision software to track rail cars between an oil-producing Big Spring, Texas, refinery and customers.
ShipmentVision is designed to provide real-time tracing data, including rail-car location, dwell time, and turn and lane details. The software also offers inventory visibility, data control and technical features.
"We will now have earlier detection for out-of-route, late and otherwise delayed shipments in transit prior to delivery," said ALON USA Asphalt and Solvents General Manager Tim Spott in a prepared statement. "This allows us to give proactive reporting to our customers and enough time to develop alternate planning solutions, if needed."
A Union Pacific Corp. subsidiary, Transentric markets supply-chain management software.
