Rail News: Railroading Supplier Spotlight
Kinkisharyo International L.L.C. recently awarded awarded a contract to Union Switch & Signal Inc. (US&S) to provide 31 sets of its MicroCab® Cab Signal System for light-rail vehicles Kinkisharyo is constructing for Sound Transit.
The Automatic Train Protection MicroCab system is designed to provide current, permitted and over speed displays to the vehicle operator, and automatically enforce braking when necessary.
Sound Transit’s MicroCab systems will include brake rate monitoring, automated departure testing and enhanced cab signal computer-based user configuration, programming and diagnostics.
US&S’ contract includes an option for 31 additional MicroCab sets.
