• Bombardier Transportation’s MOVIA metro trains used by the Delhi Metro Rail Corp. incorporate the Bombardier MITRAC propulsion system and regenerative braking, which has resulted in Delhi Metro becoming the first rail project in the world to receive carbon credits for regenerative braking, according to Bombardier. The trains’ propulsion system and regenerative braking can generate up to 30 percent energy savings, earning Delhi Metro more than 20 million Indian rupees ($446,000 U.S. dollars) under a United Nations-backed initiative to combat climate change.
