Here's the latest news from rail industry suppliers:
• A consortium comprising Bombardier Transportation and Talgo obtained a 14-year contract from Spanish national railway RENFE to maintain 45 AVE S-130 high-speed trains. The companies will conduct maintenance activities at RENFE's depots in Santa Catalina and Fuencarral through 2022. Bombardier's portion of the contract totals $202 million.
• Enterprise Wireless Alliance obtained a three-year contract to provide FCC license management, application preparation, frequency coordination and related spectrum advisory services to the Los Angeles County Metropolitan Transportation Authority.
• Brookville Equipment Corp. is continuing its demonstration tour with the new CoGeneration(tm) Locomotive. The unit recently arrived at CSX Transportation's TRANSFLO bulk transfer terminal in Hagerstown, Md., after completing a 90-day demonstration with Norfolk Southern Corp., during which time Brookville found the locomotive to perform at a higher fuel efficiency and lower emissions than a standard switcher locomotive.
• Ireco L.L.C. has developed a combination winch mandrel replacement kit that can convert cable or webbing winches on centerbeam and flat cars to combination winches "in a matter of minutes," according to the company.
