• JMA Railroad Supply Co. recently signed a long-term agreement with Parker domnick hunter to exclusively supply the company's products to the rail industry. Parker domnick hunter manufactures a range of filtration products and air dryers for compressed air systems onboard locomotives and rolling stock.
• Ansaldo STS - Union Switch & Signal recently appointed John Fink vice president of business development and sales. He will work with passenger-rail customers to determine which products they'll need to handle increased demand, and freight-rail customers to identify new hardware and software needed to improve efficiency. Fink joined the company in 2007 and has more than 20 years of transit industry experience.
• Tideworks Technology® Inc. will conduct a pilot project to streamline intermodal operations at BNSF Railway Co.'s Alliance Intermodal Facility in Fort Worth, Texas. The company will implement its Spinnaker Planning Management System® and Traffic Control™ solutions at the facility. The technology will enable BNSF to track containers, trailers, chassis, rail cars and other assets, and improve data accuracy and operational efficiency, according to Tideworks.
• Interfleet Technology has received Microsoft Gold Certified Partner accreditation, which is given to companies that demonstrate an "advanced level of expertise" with Microsoft technologies.
