Washington Metropolitan Area Transit Authority (WMATA) recently awarded a contract to ARINC Inc. to upgrade the authority’s central rail-operations computer. WMATA currently uses a central computer system designed by ARINC.
The supplier plans to install its AIM® technology, which features fully integrated train-control, and supervisory control and data acquisition (SCADA) capability designed to enhance control and monitoring of rail operations.
