Wabtec's Italian subsidiary awarded contract by Spanish railway

Wabtec Corp. subsidiary H.P. srl recently was awarded a contract by Spain’s CAF to supply electric sliding plug doors for Metro Rome’s new passenger-rail vehicles. The contract is expected to total between $8 million and $12 million, depending on options exercised.
The equipment will be manufactured in H.P.’s new Modena, Italy, facility. Delivery is expected to begin during first-quarter 2004 and be completed in 2005.
Based in Sassuolo, Italy, H.P. supplies bus and passenger-rail vehicle door equipment.
