UP debuts second safety campaign on social media

This week, Union Pacific Railroad launched a new campaign exclusively on social media urging drivers and pedestrians to be mindful of safety at grade crossings.

New videos posted on the Class I's YouTube channel tell the stories of people in various situations waiting for a train to pass. Each person then proceeds safely onward after the arms lift.

The following slogan appears during each video: "Your life is worth the wait."

"Union Pacific trains operate in more than 7,300 communities; too often our employees see drivers or pedestrians sneak around the gates," said Scott Moore, senior vice president of corporate relations at UP.

This marks the second safety campaign launched on social media this year for UP. The first addressed the dangers of taking high school senior photos on railroad tracks.
