Union Pacific Railroad has named Diane Duren executive vice president. She will be responsible for strategic planning, administration and human resources when longtime senior VPs Charley Eisele and Barb Schaefer retire in February.
Most recently VP and general manager-chemicals, Duren also will become corporate secretary at that time. She has held a variety of positions in the finance and marketing and sales departments since joining UP in 1985.
Eisele has served as SVP of strategic planning and administration since September 2001, and Schaefer has been SVP of human resources since April 1997, and corporate secretary since June 2004. Eisele and Schaefer joined UP in 1978 and 1981, respectively.
"Charley and Barb [have] each made positive, lasting impacts on our company and employees," said UP President and Chief Executive Officer Jack Koraleski in a prepared statement.
The Class I also named Beth Whited VP and general manager-chemicals to succeed Duren and promoted Roy Schroer to VP of human resources, effective in February.
Whited most recently was VP of UP's national customer service center. Since joining the Class I in 1987, she has held various executive roles in strategic planning, marketing and sales, investor relations and finance, including a stint as president of Union Pacific Distribution Services.
Schroer currently serves as assistant VP of human resources. He joined the railroad in 1978, and since has held several leadership positions in the finance, marketing/sales and HR departments, including AVP of employee benefits.
