Twin Eagle Sand Logistics LLC earlier this week announced the official opening of its frac-sand terminal in Evans, Colo. The terminal is on Union Pacific Railroad's industrial lead track in the heart of the Denver-Julesburg Basin.

The new terminal has more than 160 rail-car spaces. Plans are under way to expand the terminal to be unit-train capable next year, Twin Eagle officials said in a press release.

Twin Eagle is one of the largest independent frac sand terminal developers and operators in the nation, with sand terminals located in the most prolific oil and gas basins. The terminals combined control more than 900 rail-car spaces with nearly 50,000 tons of storage capacity.

"Operational flexibility, reliability and proximity to the wellhead are of paramount importance to our sand customers today," said Twin Eagle Chief Executive Officer Griff Jones. "Today’s market requires a relentless focus on keeping costs low through efficiencies realized across the supply chain. We believe that Evans is just the latest terminal in our network to deliver a low-cost solution to our customers."

Twin Eagle Sand Logistics is a subsidiary of Twin Eagle Resource Management LLC.
