UP elects DeLaney to board

Union Pacific Corp. announced yesterday that William DeLaney has been elected to the company's board.
DeLaney, 62, served as Sysco Corp. chief executive officer from March 2009 until he retired at the end of 2017.
"Bill brings tremendous leadership, a strong finance background and excellent supply chain management skills that will be great assets for our company," said UP Chairman, President and CEO Lance Fritz in a press release.
DeLaney began his career at Sysco in 1987, when he joined as assistant treasurer. He advanced to roles of increasing responsibility, including vice president and treasurer, president and CEO of Sysco Food Services of Charlotte Inc., and Sysco Corp. executive VP and chief financial officer.
DeLaney serves on the boards of Sanmina Corp. and Express Scripts, where he is a member of the audit and corporate governance committees. He served on Sysco's board from 2009 through 2017.
