UP makes nine management changes in operating department

Union Pacific Railroad on Friday announced nine management promotions and appointments in its operating department.

The Class I named Kenneth Hunt, currently vice president of network operations and the Harriman Dispatching Center, vice president of transportation. He will succeed Randy Blackburn, who plans to retire next year after 40 years of service.

The railroad also named Shane Keller VP of network operations and the Harriman Dispatching Center to succeed Hunt. Keller most recently was regional VP of transportation for the Western Region.

In addition:
• Richard Castagna was named regional VP of transportation-Western Region to succeed Keller;
• Rodney Doerr was appointed assistant VP of safety to succeed Castagna;
• Roger Lambeth was tabbed as general superintendent of transportation services for the Los Angeles Service Unit to succeed Doerr;
• Jamal Chappell was named superintendent of transportation services for the Livonia Service Unit to succeed Lambeth;
• Phillip Danner, currently AVP of engineering-signal, was installed as AVP of engineering-track programs;
• Neal Hathaway, currently general director of maintenance of way-positive train control, was appointed AVP of engineering-signal to succeed Danner; and
• Grant Janke, currently AVP of strategic planning, was named AVP of network and capital planning.
