Union Pacific Railroad has garnered its fourth service-performance award within the past few weeks. Yesterday, the Class I announced it received a "Club Elite" award from Hyundai GLOVIS as a top service provider.

A logistics services provider for Hyundai Motor America and Kia Motors America, Hyundai GLOVIS recognized the railroad for its continuous excellence and dedication to providing superior transportation service for finished vehicles, UP officials said in a press release. The award is based on defined metrics in transit performance, damage prevention and customer service.

"Our team is focused on safety, service and efficiency, and proactively evaluating customer needs to ensure Union Pacific delivers on the performance factors it promises," said Linda Brandl, UP's vice president-automotive.

The Class I's automotive team provides transportation and logistics solutions for shipping automotive parts, finished vehicles and aftermarket vehicles. The railroad directly serves five vehicle assembly plants, distributes imported vehicles from the West Coast and Gulf of Mexico, and operates or accesses more than 40 vehicle distribution centers for all major automakers.

UP also recently received the 2013 Award for Logistics Excellence in Customer Service from Toyota Logistics Services, the 2013 Railroad Company of the Year Award from Evergreen Shipping Agency (America) Corp. and the the 2013 Rail Carrier of the Year Award from WWL Vehicle Services Americas.
