Union Pacific among American Metals Market's top transportation providers

Union Pacific Railroad recently received the 2012 American Metals Market (AMM) Logistics/Transportation Provider of the Year award. The Class I was the only railroad to receive an AMM Award of Steel Excellence, UP officials said in a prepared statement.
UP was honored for improving ease-of-doing-business functions for steel companies. A panel of judges including steel industry constituents and editorial team members from AMM — an online resource for metals industry news, pricing and information — determined the winners.
UP's metals transportation services include Copper Connection, Pipeline Express, Energy Connection, Union Pacific Distribution Services Border Solutions, Rail2Sail, Rail Express, One Plus and Seamless Steel.
“It is exciting to be recognized as an industry leader within the steel sector,” said Brad Thrasher, UP’s vice president and general manager-industrial products.
