Union Pacific Railroad recently recognized 147 companies with a 2024 Pinnacle Award for their commitment to safely transporting chemicals by rail.

The annual award recognizes UP customers that have release prevention protocols, corrective actions plans and have zero non-accident releases of regulated hazardous materials shipments, UP officials said in a website post

UP's hazardous materials safety team provides shippers with joint rail safety training and assistance with rail-car inspections. The hazmat teams are located across the railroad's 23-state network to promote prevention, preparedness, response and recovery.
