Union Pacific Railroad has added the TexAmericas Center in Texas to its network of focus sites, providing current and future suppliers located in the rural industrial center with access to UP’s rail network.
Located west of Texarkana, the center features 3.5 million square feet of office, manufacturing, warehousing and storage space, UP officials said in an article on “Inside Track.” As a focus site, the TexAmericas Center is a large-scale development site that will serve as a railroad hub for UP to concentrate resources, manage logistics and provide targeted services to rail suppliers. It already has nearby access to rail, interstates, highways and airports, and offers services such as third-party logistics, transloading, rail-car storage and switching.
UP will begin providing intermodal service to the center by the end of 2024, with additional services to be added next year, UP officials said on "Inside Track." It will become the Class I’s 30th focus site.
“This collaboration with Union Pacific is a game changer for our region,” said Eric Voyles, TexAmericas Center executive vice president and chief economic development officer. “Through our partnership, we will provide unparalleled access to transportation solutions and enhance our ability to attract new businesses.”
