Union Pacific Railroad recently received the President's Award for Logistics Excellence from Toyota Logistics Services for the second consecutive year.

Toyota's highest supplier distinction, the President's Award recognizes overall logistics excellence among rail carriers.

UP also received 2012 excellence awards for on-time performance and customer service. The on-time performance score involves online and through-route performance, and year-over-year transit time improvements, while the customer service score involves rate communication, equipment supply, responsiveness, collaboration, business controls and overall ease of doing business.

"We are proud of our ability to consistently provide service and value to our customers, and we remain committed to offering them the best transportation solutions available," said Linda Brandl, UP's vice president and general manager-automotive, in a press release.

Toyota Logistics Services presents the awards to honor the performance of all its logistics suppliers, including railroads and trucking and marine companies. Performance metrics include damage-free service, year-over-year reductions in damage and damage cost per vehicle, and process improvements.
