Union Pacific Railroad has received the 2013 Rail Carrier of the Year Award from WWL Vehicle Services Americas, a North American logistics service provider for Nissan vehicles.

The award recognizes a railroad's outstanding transit and damage-free delivery performance.

"Earning this recognition for the fourth consecutive year demonstrates Union Pacific’s focus on shipment quality and ability to support our customers’ supply chains," said Linda Brandl, UP's vice president and general manager-automotive, in a press release. "We are proud to support WWL Vehicle Services Americas’ transportation and logistics needs, and are committed to delivering value through safety, service and efficiency."

UP serves customers in the finished vehicle and aftermarket vehicle sectors, directly accessing five finished vehicle assembly plants, and operating or accessing more than 40 vehicle distribution centers. The Class I's customer base includes nearly all major automotive manufacturers, as well as tier suppliers and other auto parts supply chain partners.
