Nomination Submission Guidelines

Nominations must be submitted by, and with the full endorsement of, the nominee's employer and with the knowledge of the nominee. Nominations are due no later than Dec. 31, 2024. Honorees will be announced in Progressive Railroading's Daily News by Feb. 2, 2025, and recognized on the magazine's website, in print and at a virtual program in March 2025.

The Women of Influence in Rail recognition is open to women working for North American Class Is, short lines, regionals, passenger railroads and rail industry suppliers, contractors, product manufacturers or engineering firms that contract with railroads.

Nominations should explain the nominee's influence in ONE of the following five categories: Innovation, Leadership, Mentorship, Technology and Sustainability. The description of the nominee's influence should be up to 500 words and clearly explain how she has helped shape her organization or the rail industry.

Companies may nominate only one woman per category. Self-nominations will not be accepted.

Suggestions for a successful nomination: Provide a thorough description of the nominee's influence. Focus on specific examples that demonstrate her influence—go beyond describing her job duties or a recitation of her resume. We are looking for evidence of her impact and how her influence has contributed to significant achievements or improvements in rail.

This is your opportunity to highlight the nominee's influence by showing why she stands out and how her work has left a meaningful impact on the company and/or rail industry overall.
