Job description: In 2019, Amber joined Texas North Western Railway (TXNW) as operations manager. Since then, she has held leadership positions including assistant superintendent and manager of safety, and now general manager/superintendent of railway operations.
Why she's influential as a leader: Amber emphasizes safety, infrastructure maintenance and workforce training. Her positive and communicative approach fosters a culture of continuous improvement and exceptional results. Under her leadership, TXNW has achieved a significant reduction in dwell time, decreasing it to 6.8 hours in 2024, down from 178 hours in 2019.
In 2023, she helped establish a partnership with TrinityRail®, resulting in the opening of a one-stop supercenter in Sunray, Texas. The partnership expanded TXNW's services, which improved efficiency and consistently meets shippers' needs. Additionally, she has been instrumental in implementing federal CRISI grant-funded infrastructure upgrades. Her influence extends beyond operational success; she inspires her team to get involved in charitable initiatives, such as raising money for food banks, breast cancer awareness and the Texas Children's Hospital Epilepsy Center.
