Woman of Influence in Rail

Caitlin Grant

Project manager
Railworks, L.K. Comstock & Co.

Job description: Caitlin joined L.K. Comstock in 2016 to work on MTA's Second Avenue Subway tunnel project in New York City. She has worked on multiple projects with the company since then, including as the lead project manager on the MTA's Harrison Place substation project.

Why she's influential as a leader: Caitlin is a prominent member of the firm's project management team working on Penn Station Access in New York City, a $1.8 billion public works project that requires collaborating with Metro-North Railroad and other MTA branches, as well as outside organizations — primarily Amtrak and CSX. The project's end goal is a major expansion involving new track and stations built for passenger trains for Metro-North and Amtrak trains in the Northeast Corridor. Her impact as a leader goes beyond assigned responsibilities. When other team members are unavailable, she is the first to jump in and provide the information and context needed to move the project along. Her willingness to help her team work through big challenges is admirable.
