Woman of Influence in Rail

Jacinda Clemenzi

Chief engineer
ENSCO Inc.

Job description: As chief engineer, Jacinda oversees the ENSCO rail division's engineering team (mechanical, electrical, software and signal processing) to ensure the company builds high-performance and reliable track inspection equipment.

Why she's influential as a leader: Jacinda has worked on a wide range of technology projects that include track inspection technology research and development (R&D), track condition and degradation studies and track inspection product designs. One of her most defining contributions was her role in the Defense Advanced Research Projects Agency (DARPA) Grand Challenges, which broke new ground in autonomous vehicle navigation. Her participation expanded her technical expertise and honed her leadership skills, resulting in her promotion to chief engineer at ENSCO.

Beyond her technical achievements, she has inspired the next generation of rail engineers as part of ENSCO's internship program. Her story — an example of the power of vision, perseverance and leadership — has made her an outstanding role model for students year after year.
