Denver RTD unveils 2016 fare changes

The Regional Transportation District of Denver (RTD) late last week implemented changes to its existing fare policies to streamline how passengers pay for trips across the agency's expanding systems.

The changes include the debut of a day pass that offers unlimited trips for the cost of a round trip. In addition, the agency introduced simplified rail zones that offer more local trips and a flat $9 fare for all bus and rail trips to and from Denver International Airport (DIA), RTD officials said in a press release.

Under the new fare structure, designated local trips will cost $2.60; one-way regional trips, $4.50; and one-way trips to or from DIA, $9.
