The San Mateo County Transportation Authority's (SMCTA) board has approved an $86.8 million budget for the agency's 2018 fiscal year, which begins July 1.

The budget includes $6.8 million for Caltrain capital investments and $12.7 million for grade separation projects, SMCTA officials said in a press release.

The agency's board consists of seven members, who collectively represent local cities, the San Mateo County Board of Supervisors and the San Mateo County Transit District.
